seeds of resistance is a zine series of revolutionary poetry, written by and for anarchists in the movement. We’ve found art to be an incredibly important support in the work we’ve been a part of. It inspires us to take action; it teaches us to worldmake, to transmute what we’re seeing and experiencing into visions for the future we’re fighting for. Seeds of Resistance is and always will be free. Ismatu Gwendolyn put it best: any cost is a barrier. volume 1: sprouting under fire is named in honor of the redwood seeds who need fire to sprout. These are hard times. The ways that we as queer & trans people are being threatened, the ways that immigrant communities and communities of color are being threatened, are escalations of the violence that people have been enduring for centuries–since the beginning of colonization in Turtle Island and Abya Yala. The poems in this issue were written since the beginning of the escalation of the genocide in Palestine and cover everything from jail support to grief to how we learn and find community in the horrors. All the poems in this zine are from one contributor, but in the future we hope to open to submissions and showcase your work!
